Pregnancy ECQ Journal — Third Trimester (WK 29-40)

Week 29: June 14- June 20

• Decorated nursery room
• Infant and Toddler Massage webinar by Mommy Mundo (c/o Rome Kanapi)
• Repotted philodendron selloum in soil (after 2 months of reviving it in water)
• Plant shopping! Met up with Trixie and Leigh. Got myself 4 new babies: Caladium bicolor florida clown, alocasia sanderiana, indian fig cactus, begonia arabian sunset

Week 30: June 21 – June 27

• Father’s Day – delivered Sushi bake to papa and picked up Fluff Yummy cookies for Klentz
• Check-up with Midwife Aileen (June 22) and Dra. Tangco (June 24)
• Visited Villa Ortigas 2 house after 5 months
• Had an anxiety attack probably because of not having other people to talk to, even Klentz, due to a busy hectic week; also overwhelmed with to-do list
• Stressed due to begonia dying on me – immediately split into 6 different containers
• First time to drive by myself again on June 27 after March 14, to run some errands

Week 31: June 28 – July 4

• Borbe’s birthday salubong – Kahoot
• Ordered apple pie from All Bout Crusts 🙂
• Brutal month-end meeting for June
• New plants (Alocasia frydek and Calathea makoyana) from Norma (FB seller)
• Mindfulness practice with Insight Timer – positivity morning meditation
• Start sorting newborn clothes by color
• Cooked chili con carne, chinese kangkong, creamy spinach with bacon
• Ordered Huggies diapers and Charmee maternity pants
• Swimming at Valle Country Club!

Week 32: July 5 – July 11

• Lim family visit to Castillas
• Ultrasound with Dra. Tangco – Keia now weighs 4 lbs 2 oz and is in cephalic position (yay!)
• Start taking megamalunggay capsules once a day
• Derma visit
• Continue reading Nurture book
• Stress: Major news – family thing

Week 33: July 12 – July 18

• Digital baby shower with family
• Received baby shower gifts from achi, Uber fam, and Trixie
• Check up with midwife Aileen – Keia is already in Left Occiput Anterior (LOA) position. Good girl!
• Washed newborn clothes (colored and white) and placed inside drawers
• Shortness of breath after meals

Week 34: July 19 – July 25

• Start drinking raspberry leaf tea 1x/day
• Start eating fruit dates 6 pcs / day
• Celebrated Meme’s birthday with Amber palabok and pichi-pichi
• After Birth Care workshop with Birthing is a Blessing (Doula Betty)

Week 35: July 26 – Aug 1

• July 26: Maternity shoot with Beige
• Baby gifts from B5, Lois, and Mariana!
• Gella and Klentz celebrate 29th together on July 30
• Surprise! Inside the little white pouch <3
• Snip snip: haircut after 4 long months
• Long weekend – unexpected holiday on July 31
• Went plant shopping in Mindanao Ave Garden Center, QC Circle

Week 36: Aug 2 – Aug 8

• Manila back to MECQ for 2 weeks
• Received edited maternity photos from Beige
• Aug 7: surprise baby shower by Ayala D&D team
• Klentz cooked cereal prawns and I made salmon cakes

Week 37: Aug 9 – Aug 15

• Start perineal massage
• Take evening primrose oil orally

Week 38: Aug 16 – Aug 22

• Drive thru COVID-19 RT-PCR swab test at SLMC QC (Result: negative)
• No wifi connection due to broken fiber box
• Aug 20: Bekbek move to Castillas
• Aug 21: Another long weekend
• Vaginal inserts of borage oil (Blooming G)

Week 39: Aug 23 – Aug 29

• Aug 28: Start of maternity leave; had IE checkup with Dra. Macapagal (already 2 cm dilated)
• Aug 29: Lost mucus plug, slight spotting and mild contractions

Week 40: Aug 30 – Sept 5

• Sept 2: Last ultrasound and non-stress test. Dra. Tangco gave me until Sept 8 to give birth, otherwise she will induce. Keia now weighs 7 lbs and 3 oz
• Sept 3 3am: Started having regular 1-min contractions, 6 mins apart until 7am. Took a shower, had breakfast and went straight to Marikina Clinic at 9am
  • 11am Cervix 8cm dilated
  • 2pm Active labor
  • 5:55pm Kailea’s out!
