Day Trip to Nusa Penida
Private tour groups are becoming popular on Instagram, especially for Bali. @nusapenidatrip was one of them which I got to contact via Whatsapp. Comparing 3 different tour packages, they seemed to offer the best value for money and was the most responsive.

Kelingking beach is the popular T-rex shaped island you see on Instagram influencers’ feed.
Broken Beach, locally known as Pasih Uug, is one of the prettiest natural rock formations I’ve seen. Interestingly there are a lot of unique formations and shapes to be found on this island. There are designated photo spots to capture this view and people are free to roam around and check what’s there to see from the opposite end. A sight to behold, indeed!
We also had our packed lunch here in Broken beach. But beware, because the declared “seafood and chicken” meal were too small (no photo available)! The meal was not filling nor appetizing at all. Make sure to bring your own snacks if you have food preference or a huge appetite.
Also, the water they provided was just the sealed ones in a cup. Barely quenched my thirst 😐
Next, we walked to Angels Billabong which was less than 2km away from Broken Beach. We couldn’t swim that time because of the large waves. It could swallow you alive and hit you hard on the face. So this was the closest I got to taking a photo of the rock pool.
The drive around Nusa Penida was really bumpy, not friendly for those with migraine or motion sickness. We went up and down the island to get to all the destinations, and the tour culminated at Crystal Bay Beach.
For us, this was the best part because we found our perfect spot to rest and chill and swim. They have bean bags under coconut trees where we made ourselves comfortable and also little stores that sold fruit shakes and chips. Crystal Bay Beach also looked very similar to the ones in Phuket Thailand (but of course we still love our Philippine beaches more).
Til our next adventure! 🙂
